Why it is interesting
According to the park, the ornithological reserve is one of Croatia’s most valuable bird areas and has been protected since 1983. The lake is a strong counterpoint to the sea: less beach, more nature and panorama.

Lake Vrana lies behind Drage and gives a completely different mood from the coast: reeds, birdlife, viewpoints, cycling routes and quieter nature.

Kamenjak viewpoint
If you only have time for a shorter trip, Kamenjak viewpoint is the best choice. From there you can see the lake, the coastline and the islands, which makes it especially strong around sunset.

Cycling and slower days
Lake Vrana is also useful when you want a calmer day away from the beach. Cycling, birdwatching and a simple scenic drive all work well from Drage.
